By using Novgtr you agree to these terms. They are intentionally short and written in plain language.
Novgtr is a free, browser-based novel writing tool. It offers a local-first editor, AI writing assistance (using your own API keys), and optional cloud sync for up to five novels per account.
The service is provided free of charge, as-is, by an individual developer. There is no guarantee of uptime, data durability, or continued availability.
You sign in using Google. You are responsible for keeping your OAuth credentials secure. You may only have one account per person.
We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or engage in any activity that harms other users or the platform.
Everything you write in Novgtr belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your novels, chapters, or notes.
By syncing content to our servers, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and transmit that content solely for the purpose of providing the service back to you. This licence ends immediately when you delete your account or the content.
You must not upload content that is illegal, infringes third-party intellectual property, or is intended to harm others.
The AI Assistant connects directly from your browser to third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, etc.) using API keys you supply. Novgtr does not store, log, or process these requests. You are responsible for complying with the terms of service of whichever AI provider you use.

Each account includes five novel slots at no cost. These limits may change in the future with reasonable notice.
Novgtr is provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that your data will never be lost. Always keep local backups of work you value — use the Export feature regularly.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) Novgtr, including any loss of data or written work.
We may update these terms or change the service at any time. Material changes will be reflected in an updated effective date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines, where the developer is based, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
